Quick answer, Solano is made with more expensive materials than the Prominent. 
The Black Onyx mouthpiece on the Solano is created with stainless steel with a high quality titanium coating to create the smooth, matte black finish. This coating requires an additional step in our manufacturing process. In comparison, the Prominent mouthpiece is made from solid stainless steel. 
Additionally, the Walnut Barrel of the Solano is made with a more premium wood than the Maple Barrel of the Prominent. 

Together, both components of the Solano are made with more expensive materials, resulting in the higher retail price.
